Applications close 5pm this Friday 27 October for the 2023 Best Care Awards, recognising completed initiatives that have improved how we provide best care or ideas for future best care improvement projects. 
The Best Care Awards form part of Western Health’s Best Care Week, to be held 8-10 November, highlighting the solid foundation of governance and organisational systems we have in place at Western Health that support best care every day of the year.
Prizes have been kindly donated by our corporate sponsors, Maxxia and Hesta, and will be awarded in the form of departmental funding ($1500) for the projects that best demonstrate improvement in the following categories:
- Person-centred care: Seeing the person in every patient and providing care that is welcoming, respectful and designed to engage the patient in their healthcare decisions.
- Coordinated care: Provision of prompt access to patient services, resulting in an effortless patient journey that is designed to optimise time to care through efficient service provisions
- Right care: Provision of appropriate, equitable and effective care for each person
- Safe care: Supports the design and delivery of care and services to patients to minimise the risk of harm.
To submit an application to the Best Care Awards, please complete and email the entry form below and accompanying 3-minute video to improvement@wh.org.au by 5pm Friday 27 October 2023.
Award recipients will be announced at the Best Care Awards on Friday 10 November 2023.
