AT WESTERN HEALTH, WE WELCOME YOU – NO MATTER YOUR GENDER OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION.

On May 17, IDAHOBIT (International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism & Transphobia) is a day to come together to share stories, learn, teach and celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community at Western Health.

This day of global awareness takes place each year on May 17, a significant date in the ongoing fight for equality: On this day in 1990, the World Health Organisation declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder.

Over 130 countries now celebrate IDAHOBIT.

As we have in the last few years, we are holding stalls at each campus for awareness raising and celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community. Please see the stall sites below.

This is a call out for volunteers who would like to join us at the stalls and be a part of this fun and meaningful event.

We need people to come along and attend the stalls in shifts 30 or 60 mins between 8 and 2pm.

Please email Emma Simpson (emma.simpson@wh.org.au) if you have availability and let me know which site and what time you can attend.

We look forward to seeing all of you there – whether it is as a stall attendant or simply as someone who comes down to join in the fun!
