Western Health Mental Health and Wellbeing Services are now live

After months of hard work by many behind the scenes, staff from NorthWestern Mental Health officially joined Western Health on Saturday 1 July, and staff from the Mercy Health ECATT Service based at Footscray joined us on Monday 3 July. This is a significant and long-awaited milestone that now positions Western Health well on the way to becoming one of the largest mental health and wellbeing services in metropolitan Melbourne, this enables us to plan and deliver truly comprehensive care in both physical and mental health domains for our community in the west.

In recognition of the amazing work by all involved and led by our Mental Health Transition and Integration Team, I am thrilled to let you know we have been accepted to present at the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM) Asia-Pacific Congress 2023 Annual Congress on “Leading Mental Health Change – Why, How & What?”

Grace Crowe, Senior Project Manager (Clinical Services – Mental Health Transition and Integration) and Livia Cremona-Bellizia, Senior Project Manager (Support Services – Mental Health Transition and Integration) will be presenting on our work to date, informing other organisations who may be tasked with disaggregation of services, and sharing the challenges encountered, and the learnings and reflections identified throughout the project.

The conference will be held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra from 11-13 October, we wish Grace and Livia the best of luck and know that they will do us proud.
